Bang AI Privacy Policy
Effective October 6, 2026 · Last updated October 6, 2026
Friday Lunch, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) makes Bang AI, the iPhone app that edits the videos you record, and runs this website. We are the controller of your personal information for Bang AI. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it and what you can do about it.
The short version
- We use your footage and answers only to make your videos and run your account.
- We don’t sell your information, show ads or track you across other apps and websites.
- We don’t use your footage to train AI models.
- Delete Account in the app deletes your account and everything in it.
Information you give us
- Your account. You sign in with Apple. We keep the identifier Apple gives us for your account, your first name if Apple shares it, and the email address Apple shares, which may be a private relay address. We use your email only for support; it is never shown in the app.
- Your onboarding answers. How long you’ve made UGC, where you make it, how many videos you make a week, what your content earns you each month now and what you want it to earn, your age range, your gender and where you heard about Bang AI. We use your age range and gender to write scripts in your voice, and the rest to tailor the app and understand who uses it. Prefer not to say is always an option for gender.
- A referral code, if you enter one, so we know who sent you.
- Your footage. The takes you record or pick from Photos or Files: a 720p working copy, its audio and a poster frame are uploaded to our servers so they can be edited, and the full-quality original stays in the app on your iPhone. Takes added to early test versions of the app also had their original uploaded.
- What we make from your footage: transcripts with word timings, still frames, one-line descriptions of those frames when you turn on visual search, and search data built from your transcripts and descriptions.
- Overlays: images you upload, and images you ask Bang AI to draw from your words, with a name and description we write for each.
- Reference videos you choose for “Edit like this video.” We upload only samples of the video (its audio, frames and a poster), measure its pacing, then delete the audio and frames and keep the name, poster and what we measured.
- Scripts: the product details you enter, the scripts Bang AI writes and their scores. We don’t keep the instructions you type to rewrite or remix a script.
- Edits and projects: your edits, recent versions of them (up to 30 days or the newest 20), caption styles, project names and tags.
- Support messages you send us, and the account ID you share from Settings so we can find your account.
Information collected as you use Bang AI
- Purchases and credits. Purchase and transaction identifiers, the product, dates, whether a purchase was refunded, and a ledger of the credits your subscription gives you and what you spent them on. We never receive your card details.
- AI usage. For each AI task, which feature ran, which model, how much it used, what it cost us, how long it took and whether it worked. Safety checks are recorded as category codes, never your words.
- Technical information. Our servers see your IP address and request details, which we use to limit abuse, keep the service secure and diagnose errors.
- Remote settings. The app may fetch settings that turn features on or off, using a random identifier made on your phone, not your account.
- The paywall. Our subscription provider’s software in the app receives your account ID, purchases, device model, language and region, and Apple’s identifier for this app on your device, to show the paywall, check your subscription and report on purchases.
The app’s own code sends no analytics and no crash reports. We don’t use the advertising identifier, and we don’t ask to track you.
How Bang AI uses AI
Editing your video means sending parts of it to AI models: your audio to make a transcript, frames to describe what’s on screen and to find where a face is so captions and overlays stay clear of it, and your transcript and product details to plan cuts, mark caption words and write scripts. We find where a face is, never whose it is, and we tell the model describing frames not to identify anyone. Words you give for drawn images and scripts are checked by a safety model first.
These models run at our cloud provider and our AI model provider, who process your content only to return the result to us. We don’t use your footage, transcripts or scripts to train AI models.
How we use information
We use your information to run Bang AI: to sign you in, store and edit your footage, write scripts, keep your library in sync, manage your subscription and credits, answer support requests, prevent fraud and abuse, keep the service secure, fix problems, understand how Bang AI is used and improve it, and meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We share it only with providers that help us run Bang AI, each limited to what its job needs:
- our cloud provider, which runs our servers, stores your footage and runs most AI models;
- our database provider, which stores your account, library and ledger;
- our AI model provider, which receives transcripts and product details to judge edits, mark captions and write scripts;
- our subscription and paywall provider;
- our remote settings provider;
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases; and
- a payment processor, if you buy on the web.
Our staff look at your account only to give support, check for abuse or run the service. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect people or the service, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business, under protections at least as strong as this policy.
How long we keep it
- Your account and library stay until you delete them or your account.
- Takes you record or upload, and the transcripts and search data made from them, may be deleted starting 30 days after your subscription ends. Your edits (without the deleted takes), overlays, scripts and reference videos are kept until you delete them or your account.
- Drawn images you don’t save are deleted after 7 days. Reference video samples are deleted once measured. Older versions of an edit are deleted after 30 days.
- Sign-in sessions end after 180 days without use.
Deleting your account
Delete Account in the app’s Settings asks you to sign in with Apple again, then deletes your account, your onboarding answers, your footage and everything made from it, your overlays, reference videos, scripts, edits, your credit ledger and your AI usage records. It also ends Bang AI’s access to your Apple sign-in. Files on our servers are gone within a day. The copies Bang AI keeps in the app on your iPhone are deleted; videos you saved to Photos stay on your phone.
We keep a scrambled record of each subscription period and refund, without your account, so the same purchase can’t give credits twice or undo a refund. Purchase records from our subscription provider that never named your account may also remain. A referral code you owned is switched off. Unspent credits are lost. Copies in backups and logs are deleted as they cycle out.
Deleting your account or the app does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it in your iPhone’s Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions.
Your choices and rights
You can delete any take, overlay, script or edit in the app, and your whole account from Settings. To ask for a copy of your information, a correction or deletion, email f@fridaylunch.studio. We may need to confirm the request is yours, and we may keep records the law requires.
Depending on where you live, including California and other US states, you may have the right to know what we collect, get a copy, have it corrected or deleted, and not be discriminated against for asking. We don’t sell or share personal information as those laws define it, and we don’t use sensitive information to infer things about you.
UK and EEA residents
If you live in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we rely on these legal bases:
- Contract: making your videos, running your account and giving you the subscription you bought.
- Legitimate interests: securing the service, preventing fraud and abuse, fixing errors and understanding how Bang AI is used.
- Legal obligation: keeping billing and tax records.
You can access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our use of your information, receive a portable copy, and complain to your data protection authority, such as the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office. Your information is stored in the United States and processed there and in other countries where our providers operate. We rely on our providers’ certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and the UK addendum for these transfers.
Security
Your footage is stored under your account and sent over encrypted connections, and we store only a scrambled form of your sign-in session. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t promise yours will never be accessed without permission.
Age
Bang AI is for people 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you think someone under 18 is using Bang AI, email us and we’ll delete their account.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a new date, and tell you in the app or by email when the change is significant. Questions or requests: Friday Lunch, LLC, f@fridaylunch.studio.
